Analyses of Hyperspectral and Directional Chris Data for Agricultural Monitoring Using a Canopy Reflectance Model

چکیده

Agricultural monitoring using a canopy reflectance model through analyses of hyperspectral and directional CHRIS data is targeted. CHRIS data of the Upper Rhine Valley test-site (Germany) were destriped and geometrically corrected, so that the 5 angular observations can be compared. An atmospherical correction was performed that uses the radiative transfer model MODTRAN 4. An extended version of the GeoSAIL canopy reflectance model (FourSAIL2) is adapted according to the spectral wavelength of CHRIS. Optical simulation results are compared with satellite measurements. Directional reflectance spectra are extracted and the directional variations compared to the model results.

Impact of multiangular information on empirical models to estimate canopy nitrogen concentration in mixed forest

Directional effects in remotely sensed reflectance data can influence the retrieval of plant biophysical and biochemical estimates. Previous studies have demonstrated that directional measurements contain added information that may increase the accuracy of estimated plant structural parameters. Because accurate biochemistry mapping is linked to vegetation structure, also models to estimate cano...

CHRIS / PROBA data analysis at the Swiss Midlands Testsite

The spaceborne ESA-mission CHRIS/PROBA (Compact High Resolution Imaging SpectrometerProject for On-board Autonomy) provides hyperspectral and multi-directional data of selected targets spread over the world. This coupled system represents a new source of information for Earth observation purposes. While the spectral information content of CHRIS data is able to assess the biochemistry of a veget...

Analyses of Chris Data of the Aquiferex Test-sites in Tunisia Applying Radiative Transfer Models

The evaluation of CHRIS data of the AquiferEx testsites in Tunisia concerning their information content for advanced land use classifications will be presented. As first essential step, the data need a careful atmospheric correction. A new approach is developed for the two test-sites where atmospheric measurements were missing. The atmospheric parameters i.e. the optical thickness and the water...

Comparing Three Canopy Reflectance Models with Hyperspectral Multi-angular Satellite Data

Studies that compare modelled reflectances with satellite-measured reflectances for different wavelengths and view angles are still rare. We compared model outputs from three different canopy reflectance models (SLC, FRT and INFORM) with satellite measured reflectances (Chris/PROBA). Comparison of the simulated directional reflectances reveals general agreement but also some differences among t...
